Bail granted to alleged heroin smuggler
PESHAWAR: A local court has granted bail to an alleged heroin smuggler. The man was allegedly trying to smuggle heroin to Saudi Arabia through capsules in his abdomen.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Peshawar Abid Sarwar issued release order of Qudrat Mast hailing from Hangu on bail. Ambreen Gulzar and Sana Gulzar appeared for the accused. The accused was arrested on December 14 by the police as 60 capsules filled with 340 grams of heroin were recovered from his abdomen
The police claimed that they had also recovered 18 more capsules from the accused’s abdomen after shifting him to prison. The lawyers submitted that first the laboratory report was still awaited in the case and second the sections of law against the applicant did not come in the prohibitory clause so he was entitled to bail. The state lawyer opposed the release of the accused on bail.
