This is to draw the attention of the relevant authorities to the absence of street lights in Shikarpur. Almost all roads of the city have multiple potholes, are covered in heaps of garbage and are drowned in stagnant water. All these problems are further aggravated as soon as the sun sets. During night, all residential areas are covered by a thick blanket of darkness which results in incidents like accidents and street crimes.
While taking the advantage of pitch black darkness, robbers conveniently rob people of their valuables, on the other hand broken roads and potholes make it difficult for people to have a smooth walk. The number of street crimes during night is going up. The authorities must take action and install streetlights across the city at the earliest.
