Robbers stab bank security guard

LAHORE : Robbers stabbed and wounded a security guard of a bank in the Islampura police area on Thursday.

The wounded security guard, Amir, has been admitted to a local hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, robbers looted Rs 100,000 from the shop of one Zulfiqar in Hunjarwal, Rs 60,000 and a cell phone from the shop of one Yasar in Shahdara, Rs 40,000 from one Assad in Defence C, Rs 25,000 from one Mukhtar in Iqbal Town and Rs 20,000 from one Wasilin in the Defence C area. Nine bikes were stolen from the areas of Gawalmandi, Musti Gate, Sanda, Nawab Town, Subzazar, Defence C, South Cantt, Manawan and Haier.

bikes recovered: The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff arrested six bike lifters and recovered 15 bikes from their possession.

The accused bike lifters were identified as Zeeshan, Ashraf, Ali Hassan, Bilal, Obaid and Noman.

Traffic issues discussed: Turkish chief metropolitan officers held a meeting at Qurban Line in connection with traffic problems.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority managing director apprised the guests of the safe city project. The Turkish officers gave suggestions to solve the traffic-related problems in Lahore and assured that they would extend full cooperation to overcome the issues.
