PERTH: Andrew Tye excelled with the ball as Perth Scorchers defeated Melbourne Stars by 13 runs in the BBL Championship on Tuesday.Perth Scorchers were restricted to 142/6 by Stars. Subsequently, they fell short of the target by 13 runs as the defending champions picked up another impressive win in the BBL. Hilton Cartwright provided the platform for Scorchers’ competitive total with a half-century before Andrew Tye picked up a five-wicket haul to Luke Wright smashed his compatriot David Willey for a couple of boundaries in the next over but that did nothing to boost Dunk’s confidence as Johnson had his man. An outside edge was pouched at second slip. Peter Handscomb had a point to prove after being left out of Australia’s Test XI but Tye opened his account with the wicketkeeper-batsman’s wicket.
