Anglo’s lively ‘Golden Jubilee Sports Gala’
Rawalpindi : At the three-day Golden Jubilee Sports Gala 2017 organised by Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School and College with great fanfare providing ample opportunities and level playing field to the students to exhibit their sporting skills.
Principal Saima Afzal, Executive Committee of Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School including President Abdul Waheed Malik, General Secretary Nisar Ahmad Malik, former principal Nisar Nazish, Finance Secretary Amadul Hassan Abbasi, and others attended the three-day event.
At the opening Anglo Arabic Higher Secondary School Executive Committee President Abdul Waheed Malik was the chief guest. Students and their parents in large numbers attended the sports gala, which was part of the concluding ceremony of school’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. Principal and Executive Committee members opened the games by igniting the Sports Gala 2017 flame and later releasing balloons in the air.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Waheed Malik pointed out to the students that the importance of balancing their time and improving their work ethics by giving considerate amount of time to education besides enjoying sports. He congratulated the management team for organising the Sports Gala and other events as part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations. During the event a traditional students’ parade, where the students clad in different uniforms of professionals like doctors, lawyers, police, pilot, boys scouts, and many others took a round of the school ground and presented a guard of honour to the chief guest.
Tiny tots from Montessori presented a beautifully coordinated show. While students from junior wing, clad in colourful costumes presented a well-coordinated PT Show and aerobics. The boys and girls also formed 50 in a beautiful formation to mark the Golden Jubilee celebration of the institution. Students from Anglo Arabic Montessori Wing competed in butterfly race, funny bunny race, fish race and spoon race. The top three positions holders were awarded medals and certificates for their achievements. It was a splendid event as part of annual sports day celebrations, which are hallmark of the school to give some break to the students from curricular activities so that they can play their heart out in their favourite sports amid cheers and excitement.
Principal Saima Afzal congratulated the winners and appreciated the other participants for their sportsmanship. She also appreciated teachers for helping the students in bringing out their talent and sportsmanship spirit.
