Robbers injure trader on resistance

LAHORE: Robbers wounded an man on resistance and deprived a number citizens of their valuables and vehicles worth millions of rupees on Friday.

Robbers wounded a trader Umar Saleem on resistance in the Islampura area and looted Rs 260,000 and a cell phone. Robbers looted valuables worth Rs 160,000 from the house of one Tariq in the Samanabad area, Rs 150,000 and a bike from one Abbas in Shafiqabad and Rs 41,000 from one Saqlain in the Ravi Road area.

Thieves stole valuables worth Rs 1.2 million from the house of one Haroon at Nawab Town, valuables worth Rs 1.1 million from the house of one Liaqat at Model Town and clothes worth Rs 1 million from the shop of one Saqib at Sattukatla.

Three cars were lifted from the areas of Shahdara, Green Town and Defence A. Eight bikes were stolen from the areas of Islampura, Nawab Town, Subzazar, Hunjarwal, Sattukatla, Nawan Kot, Millat Park and Shahdara Town.

Robbers arrested: Shahdra Dolphin Squad claimed to have arrested two robbers during patrolling and seized two pistols. Cash, three cell phones and a bike were also recovered from the arrested accused, identified as Amir Abbas and Ali Abbas. They have a criminal record. The SP Dolphin has appreciated the team and announced cash prize for it.

bike thieves: Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff arrested three bike lifters and recovered 14 bikes from their possession. The accused were identified as Azhar Hussain, Sana-ullah and Fiaz Ahmad.

Additional IGP: Punjab Additional IGP Discipline and Inspection paid a surprise visit to Sheikhupura Region and assessed the record of discipline and inspection cell and other official matters. The concerned SP briefed him about the measures taken for inspection and discipline of three districts.

The Additional IGP met with staff and expressed satisfaction over work of Sheikhupura Region. Cops suspended: Pakistan Railways Police Inspector General Dr Majeeb Ur Rehman has suspended police men on charges of bribery.

The policemen, including Mazhar Abbas, Zaheer Ahmad and Zafar Iqbal, allegedly took bribe from the passengers travelling from Karachi to Lahore. The PR IG has suspended them and ordered registration of an FIR against them. DIG Operation Shariq Jamal had held meeting with the complainants regarding the matter. The PR IG said no one would be allowed to tarnish the image of Pakistan Railways police.
