Quetta church attack victims remembered
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir said: “If we quit celebrating our happiness and leave our worship at worship places, our enemies will succeed. We have to defeat them.”
The minister said Punjab government has offered services to the Baluchistan government for better treatment to the injured of Quetta church attack. Pastor Simon Bashir in his sermon said cruel terrorists attacked Methodist Church of Quetta, which claimed 10 lives. He said terrorists are enemies of peace and people. He was speaking at a memorial ceremony for Methodist Church of Quetta in PGA Ground, Bhaar Colony. Minorities’ MPAs, bishops, Pastor Afzal Anwar, minorities’ leaders and a huge gathering of Christians were present there. The participants appreciated security forces for their timely action against terrorists who wanted to enter the church where four hundred people were attending the Sunday Service. Anwar Afzal said it has been written in Bible that those who lost their lives in the path of peace do not call them dead, they are martyred. At the end of the memorial service, Pastor Afzal Anwar prayed along with the attendants for the injured and the protection of Pakistan.
