KHAR: The contractors on Monday urged sought appointment of executive engineer (XEN) buildings and sub-divisional officer (SDO) as the respective post had been lying vacant for a month.
Contractors Gul Rehman, Wazir-e-Ala and others said that the non-appointment of officers against the vacant posts had resulted in delay in clearance of contractor arrears and was affecting the flow of construction work on various projects.
They said the contactors were facing financial problems due to non-clearance of cheques. They asked the authorities concerned to fill in the vacant positions to provide relief to the contractors.
