‘Islam is religion of human rights’
Islamabad: International Muslim Unity Forum Chairman Dr. Maqsood Jafri said Islam is the religion of human rights and condemns inhumane acts, says a press release. “For the comity of nations, it is imperative to include Human Rights as a subject at college and university level,” he said while addressing the meeting of Human Rights Club, Islamabad.
He said that it will enhance human values and norms making mankind a harmonious and better world. The Holy Quran, he said ordains to respect human blood and considers the life of every person precious. On the Mount of Arafat, the Holy Prophet nullified the differences of colour, caste, and creed while especially emphasizing the rights of women and minorities. “The Prophet of Islam called for the Unity of Humans. Islam is the religion of Humanity,” Dr. Jafri proclaimed. He said that the Charter of UNO also proclaims the need and implementation of human rights.
