Islamabad: Abasyn University celebrated its 5th anniversary and welcome party for fresh entry to rejoice its achievements for the last five years, says a press release.
The event started with recitation of Holy Quran followed by remarks of Executive Director of the campus Professor Dr. Amjad Mahmood, who appreciated the success of the event expressing his gratitude for the efforts that university has invested in order to provide a bright future to the youth.
He stressed on the point that many students of the university have now gone to foreign universities for higher degrees and congratulated the present alumni members who are working on respectable positions in various fields of life. Students amused the present guests with their skits, musical performances, and regional dances. An award distribution ceremony was also a part of the event for student with exceptional academic performance and position holders in the sports week conducted earlier.
Moreover, Abasyn University student of M.Sc (Microbiology) Izza Nisar got 1st position in national essay writing competition organised by World Health Organisation (WHO). She got 1st position amongst 35 participants from various universities. Title of essay was Awareness of donating blood. She got cash prize award and certificates. Professor Dr. Amjad Mahmood, Executive Director, Faculty/staff members and students applauded Ms. Izza on her achievement.
