LAHORE: Work for establishing a grand bazaar, spreading over 130 kanals prime land in Johar Town, is in full swing and is expected to be completed within next six months at a cost of Rs150 million.
Lahore Development Authority Director General Zahid Akhtar Zaman told this while briefing the participants in Senior Management Course from National Institute of Management and Policy, Peshawar, who visited LDA office on Friday in connection with their inland study. The director general told that this state-of-the-art project for setting up a walk & shop street has been named as Arena, where two-storey shops are being constructed on 120 plots, each measuring four marla. These shops were being built in four blocks which were being designed in Mughal, Italian and Chinese architecture, he added. He informed that grey structures of all the 11 under-construction sports complexes, one each in a national assembly constituency, will be ready in next three months and the buildings will be ready within another three months.
