KARACHI: Ishtiaq Baig, who is the vice president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, hosted a dinner reception at his residence in honour of Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri. Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair also attended the reception.

Ishtiaq Baig acknowledged the contribution of the PML-N for improving law and order in the country, particularly in Karachi, ending load-shedding and achieving better economic performance with high GDP growth.

He, as a Karachiite, thanked Nawaz Sharif for making Karachi a city of lights again—for which the people of Karachi were thankful to his government. He also raised the issues of business community and requested for their early resolution.

Saad Rafique appreciated Ishtiaq Baig for joining PML-N and hoped that Baig’s presence will further strengthen the PML-N in Sindh. He also promised to take up the issues of business community.

Balochistan CM Nawab Sanaullah Zehri highlighted the potential of Balochistan and invited business community to invest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and other projects in Balochistan.

He hoped that new expected discoveries of the oil fields in Balochistan will open a new era of prosperity. Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair said that the political uncertainty was affecting economic growth and delaying the development projects, which the country could not afford.

It is significant to mention here that Ishtiaq Baig, who is one of the most renowned businessmen and humanitarians in Pakistan, has recently joined the PML-N after meeting former premier Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.

The reception was also attended a large number of prominent businessmen, celebrities, leaders of business community and senior office-bearers of the Sindh PML-N.
