PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti on Friday announced that Hidayatullah Khan would be the party candidate for constituency PK-1, Peshawar.

He made the announcement at a public rally at the Amn Chowk, Dilazak Road here. Scores of activists of other political parties announced joining the ANP on the occasion. The ANP provincial president welcomed the newcomers into his party and hoped that his party would win the next general election with huge margin.

He said that the Supreme Court disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jehangir Tareen for life but the voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would reject Imran Khan in the next polls for life.

Commenting on the current political situation in the country, the former chief minister said that politicians should exercise caution. He said that a slight misstep on the part of politicians could endanger democracy in Pakistan.

He said that early polls' demand was an injustice with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that Imran Khan would deprive the province of the five more seats in the national legislature for his ego.

Hoti said that the government should complete its term, adding that his party accepted the 2013 polls results despite reservations. He asked the workers to start preparations for the next general election.
