E-Khidmat centre launched

LAHOREThe Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) launched an initiative to issue e-building permits for warehouses from e-Khidmat Centre at Town Hall, Lahore.

Lahore Mayor Col (r) Mubashir Javed, P&D Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, representative of PITB, Project Implementation Unit staff, representatives of CMO and DG, LG&CD attended the inauguration ceremony hosted at Jinnah Hall.

The launch of e-building permit issuance of the warehouse from the facilitation centre is part of the overall reform agenda which the Punjab government has envisaged to facilitate the investors. It was made possible due to tireless efforts of P&D, Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and Punjab Information Technology Board.

Through this facility, citizens can obtain construction permits from e-Khidmat centre within 21 days.

Addressing the ceremony, P&D Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo said the programme was aimed to improve the aggregate performance of Pakistan in the ‘Doing Business’ indicators.

It falls under the jurisdiction of the province, such as starting a business, registering property, dealing with construction permits and enforcing contracts.

Through this initiative, investors would be provided a one-window facility, thus eliminating the need to visit various offices and reducing processing time, P&D Secretary said.
