Hashmi says will stand by Nawaz if he fights on
MULTAN: Senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said the country is facing critical crisis as institutions are fighting against each other. Talking to journalists here on Thursday, he said the present situation needs former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to show more courage as the whole country would stand with him. Some forces were letting the political leadership down at all fronts. The nation had elected Nawaz Sharif thrice as prime minister. Bilawal has leadership qualities like Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz and they should move forward to excel in politics and strengthen the democracy. Hashmi said there should be an in-depth investigation into the killings of 14 people in Model Town, Lahore rather putting the entire blame on one person. The investigation was not done properly into the Model Town incident, he said.Referring his recent meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif, he said, “I flatly tell him that if you fight in present crisis, I will stand with you. I have 35 years relationship with the Sharif family and if Nawaz Sharif takes stand in present situation, it will boost the country. If he becomes hopeless, it will not favour the country. All political forces must back him rather hatching conspiracies against democracy.” The former PML-N leader said it was the responsibility of all political parties to fulfil their constitutional obligations. He warned that the forthcoming crisis will be very destructive and institutions should only perform their respective responsibilities. He appealed to all the political parties not to get used by someone to create crisis. The elections should be held according to the constitutional schedule. He asked the National Assembly speaker to demonstrate more courage and willpower. The victory of a political party in next August elections means the victory of Pakistan. Pakistan came into existence in August and the same month would move the country on the right track of development. Hashmi thanked Nawaz Sharif on nominating him from NA-149 in the next general elections. “I have not left him rather developed some differences with the PML-N.” Commenting on US
President Donald Trump’s recent announcement of declaring Al-Quds as Israeli capital, he said the World War-III had been started across the globe and United Nations was helpless in this regard. “Trump has started this war. Muslim countries have resources to combat the situation.” Meanwhile, Hashmi welcomed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s scheduled address here on Friday (today).
