The Fata reforms bill presented in March was a historic moment for every Pakistani as it proposed the merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Everyone knows that the reform bill is not a trivial matter. It is a complex task since all political parties of Pakistan have to agree on this decision. The task becomes more difficult for the government when any of the political party shows reservations on it. The decision met with the same fate.
Instead of understanding the complexity of the decision, opposition parties have exploited the situation, causing uproar and boycott of parliament proceedings. This uproar is of no use when few months are left till general elections. Opposition parties may wait and give more time to the government to work out a plan to carry out much-needed Fata reforms.
