MMA revived

RAWALPINDI: The religious parties have formally announced to revive Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) as the announcement was made during meeting of the leaders of religious parties in Karachi, reported Geo News.

The meeting was attended by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Allama Sajid Mir, Sajid Naqvi and Shah Awais Noorani. In a joint press conference with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Shah Awais Noorani said that decision had been taken to revive the MMA completely and an Ulema Mashaikh Wing would be introduced in MMA. He said that next meeting of the MMA would be held in Balochistan, while decision on Fata would also be taken in next meeting.

He said that MMA would launch mass contact movement with full force at the start of 2018. he said that the allies would decide about parting ways with the government within a month.

On this occasion, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he discussed Fata issue with bona fide intention and made clear modus operandi and it was hoped that this issue would be solved.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq said that they would not accept monarchy of any individual or a family. He said that there were many reservations in connection with elections.

Allama Sajid Naqvi said that MMA was an electoral alliance which included five big religious parties. While Sajid Mir said that revival of MMA should have been done quite earlier. He said that this alliance was for Islamic values and represented problems of the Muslims.
