ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani said that neither was country's situation good nor was the government serious in resolving various issues as he regretted that Parliament was facing an attack.

He suspended the House for 30 minutes after finding the relevant ministers missing and some questions unanswered during the question hour.

He asked for not including the government business in the order of the day on Thursday and Friday.

Not a single question was taken up formally during the question hour and after the question hour was over, again the minister concerned was not present in the House, when PML-N Senator Javed Abbasi rose to move his calling attention notice. The chair asked him to first let him find out whether the relevant minister was around.

On finding none to answer to the notice, he said that for the sake of prestige and privilege of the Parliament, he was left with no other option but to exclude the government business during the next two sittings.

Rabbani said that a total of 39 questions were part of the question hour, 14 of these had been scuttled while some others were transferred to other ministries, which did not accept them.

The House offered for the departed souls of two military personnel, who were martyred in a terrorist attack in North Waziristan a day earlier.

Minister for Federal Education and National Training Muhammad Balighur Rehman did not agree with PPP Senator Sherry Rehman and other senators that the state of education was in a very bad shape and said that as compared to 2012-13, things had significantly improved.
