Rapist, killer of minor arrested

LAHORE: A blind murder of a six-year old girl has been traced out and alleged culprit has been detained at Mailsi by Vehari police.

Nayab Haider, PRO to DPO Vehari, Umer Saeed Malik, told this in a press statement Tuesday that how six-year old daughter of a vegetable seller had gone missing mysteriously on the Eid Milad night. Police had lodged a case and started search for the girl. Later on, police had been informed about a body lying near a marriage hall. Police recovered the body and constituted an investigation team which traced out the killer.

The murderer of the girl was her neighbour named Muhammad Asif, 29, son of Abdul Razzaq. Asif was a labourer by profession. On the Eid Milad night, Asif had raped the girl by intoxicating her and left her unconscious on the spot. Furthermore, Asif buried the girl under a building to conceal his crime.

The accused had already been under sentence in a rape case and got acquitted in 2016. He confessed to many immoral activities during investigation. DPO Vehari further told that accused Asif has confessed to rape and murder of the girl.

He appreciated the role of motorway police towards betterment in society and road safety.

DIG Motorway Police Mirza Faran Baig also spoke on the occasion. DIG presented the shields and souvenir to Qasim Ali Shah.
