Unity urged to foil conspiracies against peace

CHITRAL: District Nazim Maghfirat Shah on Tuesday urged the people to foil conspiracies aimed at disturbing peace of the district.

Speaking at the session of district council, he said some extremist minded people tried to destroy the peace by using the social media and sharing a controversial post during the visit of spiritual leader of the Ismaili community Prince Karim Aga Khan which, he said, was successfully thwarted.

He said a joint investigation team had been formed to investigate and identify the real culprits behind the whole episode. The nazim said that further action in this regard would be taken after completion and submission of the report by the joint investigation team.

He said that the people of Chitral were peaceful and lived in harmony. It is to be mentioned here that all the shops in the Chitral town remained closed on Monday to protest a controversial post on the social media. Maulana Hussain Ahmed of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F had given the call for the protest.
