BoP Polo marred by rain
LAHORE: The opening day’s matches of Bank of Punjab (BoP) Polo Tournament 2017 couldn’t take place due to bad weather and wet conditions here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Tuesday.
Now on Wednesday, the only match of the day will be played between ZTBL and Guard Group. ZTBL team consists of Emran Akhtar, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, Raja Arslan Najeeb and Saqib Khan Khakwani while Guard Group team comprises Taimur Ali Malik, Ahmed Zubair Butt, Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana and Taimur Mawaz Khan.
Lahore Polo Club executive committee member Saqib Khan Khakwani while talking to media on Tuesday said that this BoP-sponsored eight-goal event would be a tough and exciting event, which would be contested among top five teams.
“I hope like the previous tournaments, this event too would provide the spectators ample opportunities to enjoy the each and every moment of thrilling matches while the finals of this tournament would also be very enthralling and challenging. I am grateful to Bank of Punjab for sponsoring this event and I hope more sponsors would come forward to support this game of kings and knights.”
