The Punjab government has spent almost Rs260 billion to provide most modern quality healthcare facilities to the people throughout the province. This is a positive step since healthy people make a healthy nation which contributes to the progress, development and prosperity of a country. Provincial Primary and Secondary Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has reiterated that the government is committed to providing modern healthcare facilities to the people through provision of maximum resources.
During his recent visit to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Kasur, the minister announced that the hospital’s renovation will be completed soon, after which latest health facilities will be available to the people at the local level. The minister, after inspecting the newly-installed CT scan machine, also said that the provincial government is spending huge funds to ensure provision of modern healthcare facilities to the people, emergencies of all government hospitals are being improved for providing better and quick services to patients. Apart from launching new programmes for improving the healthcare sector, the authorities should also regularly supervise the work being performed at hospitals so that officials concerned carry out their duties in an efficient and responsible manner.
