Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB), has disconnected more than 150 illegal water connections during last month.
According to RCB spokesman Qaiser Mahmood, the water connections were disconnected during the campaign launched to check and disconnect illegal water connections from its areas, including Naseerabad, Allahabad, Gawalmandi, Misrial, Choor, Allama Iqbal Colony, Tench Bhatta, Peshawar Road and other areas.
He informed that RCB also recovered water charges arrears amounting to over Rs6.7 million during November.
The residents have been warned that stern action would be taken with imposition of heavy fines against those found indulged in such malpractice in future. Special teams have been formed to check illegal connections, he added.
