JARANWALA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday announced his support to the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and said he would continue chasing Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah until they are sent to the Adiala Jail over the Model Town killings.

Addressing a public rally at the Railway Ground, Imran said his message to Qadri was that “the PTI is with you and we shall stand on your side till justice is delivered,” adding they would support Qadri when he decides to take to the streets.

Imran said the Sharif brothers were behind the bloodshed in Model Town, which was not the first such incident, as he alleged that Shahbaz is involved in extrajudicial killings. About Rana Sanaullah, the PTI chief said he is a murderer, adding that the law minister is a villain of the Punjabi films.

Predicting that the time for Shahbaz would be over soon, he said the Sharif brothers remained safe only because they, in the past, used to purchase judges and government servants. Imran said he would fight the Sharifs until they are sent to prison for corruption, claiming that he would win the next “elections match”.

Addressing the youth and women, he said Pakistan was the most prosperous country in the Subcontinent 50 years ago but has been left behind because of corruption. He said the money, which was to be spent for provision of potable water, health and education services, was robbed by a small group who came into the government and sent the funds abroad to their children. Imran said corruption, tampering with elections, recruiting corrupt persons like the former NAB chairman and earning commission in projects like Metro was the ideology of Nawaz. Commenting on the poor condition of farmers and peasants, he said it is the duty of the state to protect and provide cheap fertilizers and seeds to them as well as ensuring a good rate for their produce. Imran said cheap justice, higher education for all particularly the poor, best health facilities and the poor-oriented policies would be the hallmark of Naya Pakistan. He paid rich tribute to the military and said they safeguarded the country bravely, adding:“we are proud of our armed forces.”

Imran criticised US President Donald Trump for his decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and termed it a cruel move not only against the Muslims but also for the entire mankind.

Sheikh Rashid, Jahangir Tareen and others also addressed the rally. Sheikh Rashid said the Sharif brothers would be handcuffed in February next. He said he should be renamed as Rana Sanaullah if he is unable to end the politics of Sharif family and that he would leave politics if Imran is unable to form the next government.
