CTD arrests two terror suspects

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a terrorism plan in Lodhran and arrested two suspects belonged to TTP.
Reportedly, CTD Multan received intelligence about presence of two terrorists affiliated with proscribed organization (TTP) at Gellewaal Morr district Lodhran. After receiving the information, a team of CTD arrested both terrorists. They were identified as Arshad and Yasir. They were planning to attack government installations in Lodhran. CTD recovered three hand grenades and one pistol from their possession. Further investigations are underway.
OPC: Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab has reclaimed 15 properties of Pakistani expatriates worth Rs57 million during the last week.
OPC Punjab Vice Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt informed this while presiding over the weekly meeting of officers. OPC Public Facilitation Committee Chairman Sajid Chaudhary, DG Syed Javed Iqbal Bukhari, Additional DG Agha Yousaf, Directors Raja Zubair and Ishrat-ullah Niazi attended the meeting.
Shaheen Khalid Butt said the reclaimed properties were situated in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Jehlum, Rawalpindi and Chiniot districts. OPC Punjab with the help of respective District Overseas Pakistanis Committee (DOPC) reclaimed the properties and handed over to their owners. He said OPC was pursuing the issues of Overseas Pakistanis and so far, half of the received complaints of expatriates have been resolved.
Two killed: Two people were killed and three others received injuries in separate road accidents here on Thursday.
In Manga Mundi, a speeding tractor-trolley hit a bike, killing 25-year-old Amir of Sahiwal and injuring his two friends injured. The driver fled the scene. The injured identified as Imran and Afzal were shifted to hospital.
Separately, a speeding car overturned and collided with a footpath in South Cantt police limits. As a result, the car driver died on the spot while the other rider received multiple injuries. The victim was identified as Danial of Makka Colony and injured as Shahzad of the same area. The injured was shifted to hospital.
WOMAN DIES: A 22-year-old woman died in hospital. The victim has been identified as Naima of Data Darbar. Her father told police that his daughter was a kidney patient and used to take pills.On the day of the incident, she was asleep when her condition went critical. She was rushed to hospital where she died.
PRISONER DIES: A 50-year-old prisoner died in Kot Lakhpat Jail under mysterious circumstances. The victim was identified as Shafiq of Baghbanpura. He was imprisoned in a murder case. On the day of the incident, he went unconscious and was rushed to jail hospital where he died.
Blood screening camp: A three-day blood screening camp was held at Qurban Lines here on Thursday. Officers and officials of Mujahid Squad, Dolphin, Police Response Unit, traffic, Safe City Authority, Elite and Special Branch went through blood screening, hepatitis A, B, C, malaria and other tests.
MAN DIES: A 67-year-old man died of heart attack in Lorry Adda police limits. The victim was identified as Ahmad Sher of Chiniot.
WORKSHOP: An anti-narcotics training workshop was held at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh to improve quality of investigation and professional capacity of investigation officers.
Additional District & Sessions Judge Shahid Bashir on the occasion said police would have to change traditional method of investigation and adopt scientific methods for investigation. He said drug samples should be sent to PFSA Laboratory for examination and investigation officers should consult the prosecutor while preparing the challan of the cases.
