Pak powerlifting team leaves for Singapore today

LAHORE: Pakistan Men & Women Powerlifting Team is leaving for Singapore on December 7 (today) to participate in Oceania - Pacific Powerlifting Championships.
The Oceania-Pacific (Men & Women) Powerlifting Championships, December 07-10, at Park Avenue Convention Centre, Singapore.
Saniha Ghafoor (strongest women powerlifter of the year 2017) will be showing her skills and strength in 57kg category for Pakistan at this event. Twinkle Sohail (2015 Asian gold medallist) will figure in 72kg category this time. Twinkle is fully confident to win medal for Pakistan again after 2015. National gold medalist Sybil Sohail is participating in 47kg Category of seniors. Altogether 148 men and women powerlifters from Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Naru, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Pakistan are taking part in the event.
2015 Asian Silver Medallist Mahmood Heera (120kg) and 2015 Asian Bronze Medallist Syed Nadeem Hashmi (105kg) will also show their strength at these Championships.
(Under 18) Sub-Junior Muhammad Ahmed Khan is ready for the championships to show a great performance for Pakistan in 120kg Category. The team will return home on December 12.
Female team: Sybil Sohail 47kg, Saniha Ghafoor 57kg, Twinkle Sohail 72kg, Rabbia Razzaq 84kg
Male team: M Ahmad Khan 105kg, Syed Nadeem Hashmi 105kg, Mahmood Heera 120kg. Rashed Malik is Coach and Manager of the touring squad.
