Lahore clinch Punjab Weightlifting C’ship

LAHORE: Lahore Division won 67th Punjab Weightlifting Championship while Gujranwala Division finished second followed by Rawalpindi in weightlifting competitions held on Monday. Overall, competitions were conducted in seven men body weights and four female categories. Hafiza Iqra Arif remained prominent lifter among females with 70kg weight. MPA Farzana Butt was the chief guest while international weightlifter Aqeel Javed Butt was the organizing secretary of the championship.
Results (Men): 56kg Hasan Ali 1st; M Hadid 2nd; Abid Khan 3rd.
69kg: M Naeem 1st; M Waseem Akram 2nd; Liaqat Naimat 3rd.
77kg: Waqas Ahmed 1st; Zahid Mahmud 2nd; Talha Butt 3r, 85 kg: Nabeel, Inam Mira and Moiz Butt, 94kg: Bilal Butt 1st; Ali Raza 2nd; Basharat Ali 3rd, 105kg: Waqas Bhatti 1st; Asif Ali 2nd; Umer Zahid 3rd.
195 plus kg: Shuqaib Butt, Faraz Tariq and Umar Hamid.
Female category one: Amna Gujar 1st; Alesha Imran 2nd; Mehak 3rd. Female category two: Hafiza Iqra Arif 1st; Sehar Saleem 2nd; Pakiza 3rd, Female category three: Fatima Shahid 1st; Atuba 2nd; Shazia 3rd.Female category four: Atia Saleem 1st; Summan Imran 2nd Amna Jutt 3rd.
