Seminar to explore youth talent in initiating self-earning held

Islamabad: To explore the talent of youth in initiating and leading to self-earning, an association of young entrepreneurs organised a seminar on ‘The Art of Freelancing: Effective Strategies to Boost your Freelance Career’.
Organised by DiRi TALENTS, the event was led by well-known freelancers and digital entrepreneurs who started their careers as freelancers and now become business entities in a very short period of time. The category of those freelancers comprised of writer, graphic designer, SEO expert, web developer, digital marketers etc.
“Everyone has the ability to think, create and execute in a well manner, however, it only needs a consideration and knows the level of understanding to explore and polish the skills,” said Asad Iqbal, CEO, DiRi Talents. He further recommended ‘freelancing’ as a best opportunity for females to ensure earning by doing work at home.
Nouman Mirza, a proud talent of Pakistan and super seller on Fiverr.com, he was the main speaker of the event. He boosted his career after getting fed up from jobs. “Unemployment and fear to get employed which pissed our youth off and block their aptitude to do something very creative and comprehensive,” said Nouman.
He proudly mentioned to buy a house recently just with the blessed earning as freelancer. To make the participants motivated, he briefly shared overview of the platform of fiverr. He mentioned few tips to become a successful seller to always deliver original and professional work. Effective and timely response with buyers can do wonders.
He particularly emphasized the importance of exploring one’s key skills that s/he can offer and empowering yourself during the course. He also highlighted that freelancing is not only offering services but online platforms can also be used to sell one’s already established products.
Saad Hamid, former Country Representative of Upwork.com, shared his story as freelancer. He insisted upon to develop the sense of doing at own’s own and explore the multiple skills that one have and hoe he can polish it further.
He highlighted the key skills that are trending on up-work. Saad emphasized learning new skills that are trending in market, bidding in those skills where labor supply is not high to become a successful freelancer. He also motivated audience to focus on their communication skills and highlighting one’s profile in a way that helps him/her stand out of the crowd.
Asad Rehman Khattak, an efficient seller on Freelancer.com to provide services for web development and deployment. He mentioned that success as freelancer not only rely on offering new but it comes when you stop waiting for any miracle to knock at your door, it just link with right path and quality work delivery.
He further highlighted that freelancing and full time jobs can be done side by side. Full time job will help you learn skills and acquire knowledge and further you can sell those skills on freelancing websites as a part time initiative.
While concluding the session, it was mentioned that technology has sorted employment issues for youth particularly females and give multiple platforms to become a freelancer and entrepreneur to strategize things for making money online.
At the end of the session, training workshops for beginners, medium and advance level freelancers were offered. Internship and jobs were also offered to the participants. Certificates were also awarded to the participants.
