IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad ends

The four-day, largest student-led international inter-school/college annual talent marathon ‘IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017’ successfully concluded with a star-studded line of events featuring the glamorous IVY Style Awards Show (including live red carpet coverage) hosted by the popular fashion, TV & movie star icons from the media industry; a special performance by Sahara UK band; Talent Hunt Pakistan and a grand finale concert by the legend Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, says a press release.
The event was jointly hosted by six IVY campuses that included Riverview, DHA, University, Westridge, F-8 and Chaklala campus, says a press release. Over 3000 students from all over Pakistan as well as from prestigious institutions all over the world participated in this illustrious event. Following the impressive grand opening ceremony with the French festival theme ‘La Carnival Dé IYLO,’ the talent competitions continued including business idea contest, dramatics, math Olympiad, minute to win it, declamation contest, science flair and make-over contest.
The biggest names in literature, science, arts, cookery, fashion, movie and music industries were invited to be a part of this mega event. Impressive performances by the participants stole each show overwhelming the crowd and making them give a thunderous applause leaving the audience spellbound.
The talent competitions include Declamation contest, Maths Olympiad, Literature Boulevard, Ad-Making, Master Chef, E-Gaming, Battle of the Bands, Street Graffiti, Sketch Making, Thematic Art, Fashion Show, Business Idea Contest and Talent Hunt/ Treasure Hunt/ Amazing Race. Roots IVY Olympiad signifies the cohesion of vision, leadership and intellect. Due to the abundance attendance of delegates and participants, this year’s IYLO was declared to be the best ever Olympiad. On the occasion the winners of the IVY Style Awards were also announced. Highlighting the overwhelming success of the Olympiad at the impressive IYLO closing ceremony, CEO Roots IVY International Schools Pakistan Dr. Khadija Mushtaq congratulated the organising team, staff members and the winners encouraging all students to explore their potential talent and avail such dynamic opportunities.
She said, “Today after witnessing the extraordinary accomplishment and sensational success of the IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad, I am speechless because of my most dynamic, hardworking, passionate team of heads, coordinators, teachers, managers and my students who are my real strength, my army, my motivation and my source of inspiration. You all are my team because you never let me down. I am the luckiest person in this universe to get so much of love, strength and respect from thousands of passionate, motivational and dynamic students. You have raised my head with pride. I can never repay you for your loyalty and commitment and always giving your 100 per cent. There was an ocean of young people today at the most amazing musical evening with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The Olympiad grand finale concert was by Pakistani legendary maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It was the second time that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan performed in any educational institute. Rahat Fateh Ali had the massive crowd of over 3000 students swaying to his melodious super hits like ‘tere mast mast do nain,’ ‘dum mast’, ‘teri meri’, ‘dillagi’, etc. At the end of the mesmerizing musical evening, he thanked IVY students for being so enthusiastic, lively, responsive and well disciplined. Founder Roots School System Mrs. Riffat Mushtaq gave out the shields to the winners at the grand closing ceremony of the IVY Youth and Leadership Olympiad 2017 and congratulated the IYLO core team, executive council and staff members on organising such a dynamic and vibrant event. She encouraged all students to work together and explore their potential talent through such dynamic platforms.
