November 30, 2017
LAHORE: Permanent Managing Director for NESPAK from its serving vice presidents should be appointment without further delay to avoid impediment in its business, receivables, day to day affairs and its 300 ongoing projects.
This was demanded in an emergency meeting of NEPWA — the representative association of NESPAK Professional Employees — executive body was held simultaneously in head office Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad and Karachi offices, says a press release.
A single point agenda of the meeting was the immediate appointment of Managing Director, NESPAK from its serving vice presidents.
A joint resolution was passed unanimously in the meetings which says, “NESPAK enjoys the reputation of one of the top Engineering Consultancy Organization in the world and is one of the most profitable institutions of the Country. It endures all its expenses including the salaries of its five thousands (5000) employees from its own income and also provides dividends and taxes to the State amounting hundreds of millions thus never been a burden on the state. Such an esteemed organization is rundown of its Managing Director since April 10, 2017 which is adversely affecting its business, receivables, day to day affairs and its 300 ongoing projects. NEPWA and its entire staff appeal Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Minister for Energy Awais Laghari and Secretary Energy — the Chairman of NESPAK Board of Directors — to appoint a permanent Managing Director for NESPAK from its serving vice presidents without any further dely.”
If the demand of the association not fulfilled instantly, NEPWA will call for further meetings to frame the future strategy on this issue.
