No place to stay
November 29, 2017
According to Unicef, more than three million children are deprived of education in Sindh. Thousands of schools are closed and remaining schools and colleges are running on their own without basic facilities, like infrastructure, transport, etc. Khairpur Medical College is one of them. Students of this college have been facing a number of problems, including expensive tuition fee, accommodation problems, etc. The college does not have a proper hostel for boys and more than 200 students are staying at private places on rent.
For students, it is difficult to manage these monthly expenses. It is the responsibility of an education institution to provide hostel facilities to its students. Although within two months another session will be started, there are not enough resources to accommodate new students at the campus. The education department of the province must pay attention to these issues.
