ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) while expressing satisfaction over restoration of clauses in the Elections Act 2017 relating to Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (SAW) has called upon leaders and organisers of sit-in at Faizabad to shift their protest site to some other place.
Heading a meeting here, CII Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz asked leaders of the sit-in that while keeping in view respect and sanctity of the month of Rabiul Awwal they should change site of their protest to a place where the general public do not face any problems in their routine life.
The CII chairman has called a meeting of leading religious leaders and Ulema of the country on November 29 (Wednesday) here to discuss the important issue of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (SAW) and finding way out to sit-in. He said organisers should shift the venue of their protest to some other place so that activities relating to holy month of Rabiul Awwal and patients, children, elderly people and women do not face any hurdles in the movement.
The CII chairman expressed the satisfaction that leaders of all the political and religious parties having representation in the Parliament have amicably addressed all the issues concerning Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (SAW) amicably. " Both the government and opposition deserve appreciation because while taking cognisance of the sensitivity of the issue, have resolved it amicably once for all," he said adding that the government and the opposition leaders have come up to expectations of the nation as the issue related to basic faith as Muslims. He observed that measures taken by the government and opposition had closed doors to all ambiguities and confusions being created with regard to the sensitive religious issue.
Dr Qibla Ayaz was of the view that following start of
the CPEC project, there was need to give an impression that Pakistan was a peaceful and safe country for investors having complete national and sectarian unity.
