Schools Olympics inaugurated

BAHAWALPUR: Second annual Govt Schools Olympics of Bahawalpur district were inaugurated at Dring Stadium on Friday amid colourful opening ceremony. The Schools Olympics is the brain child of former Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr Ahtasham Anwar Mahar, who last year organized the first ever Schools Olympics in the history of the country. The Schools Olympics were inaugurated by Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar. Around 1400 students of Bahawalpur schools are featuring in the four-day event. An Olympic torch was lit and the participating teams also presented march past and PT shows in the opening ceremony.
