LAHORE :Reacting to a statement of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Pakistan People's Party supported the law of a dictator like Pervez Musharraf, the PPP leadership has criticised the PML-N head accusing him of always conspiring against democracy.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, PPP Secretary Information Chaudhry Manzoor said that it was Nawaz Sharif who let Musharraf go abroad despite treason case against him. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif also implicated slain PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto in false cases and influenced courts to convict her.
Moreover, Manzoor, also a former PPP MNA from Kasur, said that it was the PPP which fought the battle for the restoration of democracy, whereas, Nawaz Sharif ran from the country while signing a deal with dictator Pervez Musharraf. He said if a disqualified person could become a party head, smugglers and dacoits too could form their political parties in future.
