Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has urged the prime minister to remove Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique until the completion of a probe by NAB into the land scam started on the complaints of hundreds of citizens.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, PTI MPA Shoaib Siddiqui said that those who levelled baseless allegations against others had been caught red-handed grabbing land in connivance with Punjab government that facilitated the railways minister through Lahore Development Authority and other government departments. He said that the "prize bond fame" Khawaja Saad Rafique should learn a lesson from the fate of his ‘godfather’ and refrain from looting the national exchequer for personal motives and stop using his official position. Shoaib Siddiquee said Khawaja Saad Rafique was making a noise in the National Assembly because he was afraid that after Sharif Family his accountability would start. He said that all the departments should be questioned on allegedly extending illegal and undue favour to the railways minister.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ul Rasheed has demanded Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to launch a health card scheme in the province on the pattern of the scheme launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, assuring the Punjab chief minister of his complete cooperation, Mian Mehmood ul Rasheed said that PTI would provide every possible assistance to the government over public welfare.
Voicing concern over the incidents of women giving birth to children outside hospitals, the opposition leader said that the CM had failed miserably to implement health reforms in the province.
He added the population of Punjab had increased rapidly, but neither the budget for health sector had been enhanced nor the hospitals upgraded. To a question, he said he wouldn’t waste time on responding to the statement of a disqualified prime minister but asserted that PTI wouldn’t stop its mission to expose the corrupt mafia of the country.
