‘Tourism development to promote country’s positive image’

Islamabad :Pakistan has great potential. The tourism sector contributes a substantial percentage of the GDP and we need to focus on its development. It is not only the government’s responsibility but ours as well as the corporate bodies and individuals to demonstrate that Pakistan is amongst the best places to visit.
This was stated by Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani ahead of the Pakistan Travel Mart slated to take place from November 24 to 26 at the Expo Center, Karachi.
The expo is a travel and tourism event meant to connect all stakeholders of mobility in the country including travel, tourism and hospitality. All tourism stakeholders, officials, airlines, travel agencies and technology partners are taking part exhibiting in it.
The Serena Hotels will exhibit the services offered in all its properties. The chief guests will be Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah and the Punjab youth affairs and sports minister and secretary.
"Through that expo, we aims at promoting tourism industry of Pakistan. Pakistan has tremendous tourism industry potential, and through proper recognition and infrastructure, it can help promote a positive image of Pakistan," he said.
The Serena Hotels CEO said the event was a great initiative, and brings all stakeholders on one platform. "It allows us to showcase our current resources and allows us to promote growth of the entire tourism industry and explore prospects in Pakistani market," he said.
Boolani said Pakistani tourism industry had great potential for progress. "Tourism contributes a substantial percentage of the GDP and we need to focus on it.
