Man tortured to death in Batapur

LAHORE :A 28-year-old man was tortured to death by unidentified suspects. Police found his body in fields in Batapur police limits on Monday. Police have shifted the body to morgue. The deceased was identified as Mohsin Ali, a resident of Mandianwala.
Farmers spotted his body and informed police. Police said the victim was tortured and later killed with a sharp-edged weapon. Police have started investigation. Three commit suicide: Three, including a mother of five, committed suicide in different areas of the city on Monday.
Police have shifted the bodies to morgue. In Manga Mandi, 38-year-old, Haider, committed suicide over domestic issue by swallowing poisonous pills. In Shafiqabad, 22-year-old, Sidra, committed suicide over a quarrel with her family. She was a resident of Khokhar Town.
In another incident, a 45-year-old woman in Baghbanpura police limits committed suicide due to poverty. She was identified as Shamshad Bibi. On the day of incident, she hanged herself with a fan. Her children saw her and started hue and cry.
She was a resident of Rahim Yar Khan and was living in Lahore at a rented house along with her husband and five children. crackdown: On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan, a crackdown against criminal and anti-social groups has been started across Punjab.
Vehari Police arrested drug pushers during an operation and seized drugs worth Rs07 million. Vehari District Police Officer Umar Saeed Malik lauded the team participated in the operation and announced cash prize and appreciation certificates for them.
