ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday expressed serious concern about the distribution of Rs200 billion among MNAs and MPAs by the federal and provincial governments and urged Supreme Court (SC) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take immediate notice of the political bribery being distributed in the garb of development funds.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf tagged the distribution of development funds from the national exchequer as pre-polls rigging.
The PTI leadership meeting was held on Monday at Chairman’s Secretariat with Imran Khan in the chair.
PTI strongly criticised the federal and Punjab governments for bestowing Rs200billion on members of national and provincial assemblies in the name of development funds.
“Distribution of funds from national exchequer prior to elections, is nothing but shameless attempt of pre- poll rigging”, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lambasted. In the meeting PTI leadership urged the apex court and the Election Commission to take notice of the matter.
The meeting also discussed in detail the Election Bill 2017 with special focus on the amendment of Article 203 of the bill. Along with that major aspects of census and expected delimitation of constituencies have also been analysed in a detailed manner.
PTI once again condemned in the strongest terms the malicious campaign of Nawaz Sharif and his mafia against state institutions particularly the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf reiterated its demand for early elections stating that due to slavish policies of the incumbent government Pakistan has sunken into the quagmire of economic, political and administrative crisis. The sitting government lacks the ability of decision making which led to failure at both political and administrative level.
It was said in the meeting that Nawaz Sharif and his mafia want to hijack system to save their theft worth billions. PTI criticised the sitting prime minister and his cabinet for acting as puppets instead of playing their constitutional roles.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf urged that a government with public mandate and confidence should be given the authority for policy and decision making instead of giving the reins of power to a few stooges playing in the hands of their disqualified masters.
