LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said the PML-N government had taken sincere steps to transform the deprivations of the people into happiness, adding that the country was on the road to development due to the solid economic policies.
He said, “Today’s Pakistan is much more peaceful, secure and prosperous than before,” and added that the government’s performance evident before the people and they would win the next elections on the basis of performance.
Talking to the elected representatives, he said history was a witness to the PML-N’s politics of public service, whose policies had been designed keeping in view the internal and external challenges.
Shahbaz said the negative politics of falsehood lost credibility as the defeated elements had left no stone unturned to ruin the bright future of the country. Such elements, he added, had no concern with people’s problems.
“We are actively working to make Pakistan fully developed in the light of sayings of the Founder of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as we only believe in public service.”
On the other hand, the chief minister suspended the DSP, SHO and policemen involved in beating up an old couple, protesting outside the MDA office in Multan.
He took notice of the news aired by a section of media and sought a report from the CPO. Legal action should be initiated against the responsible persons involved in the incident, said Shahbaz who also sent a high-powered committee to inquire into the matter and submit a report within 24 hours.
