Separation of power

November 21, 2017
Few months ago, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government passed a bill to regulate and supervise the operations of private schools in the entire province. But despite the government’s orders, all schools are being run according to their own free will. Private schools are money-making factories that are playing with the future of innocent children. They hire highly educated teachers on low salary packages with no job security. It has been observed that some of these schools fire a teacher before the arrival of summer vacations over various pretexts in order to save salaries expense. By the end of summer vacations, they hire other unfortunate teachers.
Although there are a number of some schools that have rendered fabulous results and contributed a lot towards the education sector, a few schools are still being run in the country only for profit. For safeguarding their interest, they have formed a strong association which strongly opposes the government’s decisions and always does things their own way. The provincial government seems to be helpless in front of the association. In this regard, the government should constitute a separate entity for monitoring and checking these institutions.
