Murder suspect held at airport

The Federal Investigation Agency‘s (FIA) immigration staff posted at the Jinnah International Airport has arrested a murder suspect wanted by the Gujranwala police.
The spokesman for the FIA’s Sindh chapter said Tariq Javed was taken into custody at the arrival courter during the screening of passengers who had come on a flight from Saudi Arabia.
The FIA officials later informed the Gujranwala police of the arrest of Javed, who was on the red list of Interpol. The FIA had earlier informed Interpol through a letter that Javed, along with some other people, had been booked in an FIR for shooting dead a man, Umar Daraz, and wounding others. The case was registered on a complained filed by Hafiz Mohammad Naeem at the Kotwali Police Station. Later, the trial court declared Javed a proclaimed offender and issued his perpetual arrest warrant.
Three men held
The FIA’s Commercial Banking Circle busted a racket of money laundering and arrested three suspects. The spokesman said a team conducted a raid in Godhra Gali in the Paan Mandi area after receiving information about the illegal business of Hawala and Hundi, and arrested Irfan Ahmed (the alleged mastermind), Ejaz Ahmed and Mohammad Imran.
During a search of the place, the officials found material which the suspect had been using for Hundi and Hawala in violation of the FBR Act 1974, cellphones and laptops. An FIR was registered against the tree,
The accused were said to have been running the illegal business under the cover of the betel nuts business.
