SUKKUR: Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani here on Saturday said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) made many attempts to advise former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to not resume politics of confrontation with institutions, but he did not take our suggestions seriously and now he was worried about his political future, and was politically isolated. He said this while addressing a ceremony of the All Sindhi Pathan Youth Organisation.
The PPP leader said that they had sacrificed a lot for democracy. He said that the formation of the grand democratic alliance of the political parties against PPP was not a new thing, adding that in the past, such alliances were formed even in the times of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. “However, the people of Sindh did not respond to any such grand alliance. The PPP is connected with masses and no such alliance can affect us. The Pathan and Sindhi brothers will be in front if any force will conspire against Sindh.”
Durrani said that no one can dare to divide Sindh. He warned the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) to stop its conspiracy of disintegrating Sindh, otherwise the people of Sindh will not spare them. He said the federal government was not providing relief to common people.
Durrani said: “The federal government has not addressed the energy crisis as well. People are committing suicide against the discriminating policies of the federal government towards the provinces.”
