Increase in LPG price denounced

Rawalpindi: The people belonging to lower strata of life have termed increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) price as a bombshell that would severely hit them in the winter.
“It is really unfortunate that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has increased the price of LPG by Rs5 per kilogramme at the start of the winter. It means the common people will have to face some tough time while fighting against harsh cold weather conditions,” said Muneeb Akram, a resident of Sadiqabad.
The most common use of LPG is for cooking both domestic as well as commercial. In addition to this LPG is also used for running automobiles and for refrigeration, etc. So any rise or fall in the cost of LPG cylinder affects the financial plan of a family.
Arshad Mehmood, a resident of Ghauri Town, said use of LPG has increased manifold in the last few years so the relevant government departments should keep vigil over its prices to provide relief to the common people.
“The increase in the prices of LPG will be an extra burden on the people who are already finding it hard to make their both ends meet,” he said.
