Thunderstorm, rain likely

LAHORE :Dry weather with partly cloudy weather resulting in scattered rain was observed in the provincial capital here Friday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said a shallow westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next two days. They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.
Met officials predicted that more rain and thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Upper Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Bannu, Lahore and Gujranwala divisions.
Met officials also said hailstorm is also expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Hazara divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during the period while cold and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.
Rainfall was observed in various cities, including Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 10mm, Chaklala 07mm), Islamabad (Bokra, Saidpur 07mm, Golra 06mm, Z.P 03mm), Murree 06mm, Lahore (PBO 06mm, A/P 05mm, Punjab University 01mm), Kasur 05mm, Mangla, Jhelum,
Gujranwala 01mm, Saidu Sharif, Kakul 06mm, Parachinar, Balakot 02mm, Muzaffarabad 05mm, Garhi Dupatta 04mm, Rawalakot 03mm and Kotli 02mm. Friday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Kalat and Skardu where mercury dropped down to -04°C while in Lahore, maximum temperature was 23°C, minimum was 10°C and humidity level was 48 percent.
