Court awards punishments in Reni Canal corruption case
SUKKUR: Accountability Court Sukkur here on Monday awarded punishments and fines to all the nine accused in the Reni Canal corruption case. Among those convicted included ex-District Officer Revenue Aslam Lund awarded 5 years imprisonment and Rs 30 million fine, Gul Sheer Solangi, ex-DDO Land acquisition, Obaro, seven years imprisonment and Rs70 million fine, S M Rana Ayaz, ex-DDO Daharki, seven years imprisonment and Rs100 million fine, and his two sons Kashif Ayaz and Asif Ayaza Rana were given 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs25 million each. The Accountability Court also awarded five years imprisonment and Rs 20 million fine to ex-Mukhtiarkar Ghotki Muhammed Hussain Mughul, besides five years imprisonment and Rs 10 million fine to each Tapidar Subhan and Supervisor Abdul Sattar Kalwar. Police shifted all of them to the Sukkur Prison.
