LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said they did not expect justice for the Sharif family in the accountability court.
Rana Sana appreciated the chief justice’s statement in which he described any haste in delivering justice as burying the justice. “This statement of the chief justice 1,000 per cent, not 100 per cent, true,” he remarked.
Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly building, the provincial minister said the proceedings of NAB references against Nawaz Sharif and his family were held hastily, which meant that the justice would be buried. He expressed the hope that the chief justice would take notice of the matter and would not allow burial of justice.
Rana Sana said there was no example of hearing a reference in such a manner during the 70 years, especially after the formation of NAB. It seemed as if some force was setting the references into motion, he remarked.
He recalled that the references against former premiers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf were also pending with the accountability courts. “If the decision on these has come in six months and their hearing is being held in a similar haste then perhaps our objection doesn’t hold any ground,” said Rana Sana.
