Contractors asked to speed up work

Metro Bus Project Implementation Committee Chairman Hanif Abbasi and Commissioner Rawalpindi Division /DG RDA Captain (r) Zahid Saeed have directed related contractors of their respective packages to speed up work for completion of various works and installation of stations of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service Project.
Official spokesman for MBP, Hafiz Irfan told this correspondent that the special directions were given in a meeting which was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to review the progress of all Metro Bus stations.
According to spokesman, the meeting was jointly chaired by Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, ex-MNA and Captain (r) Zahid Saeed, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division who is also Director General (DG), RDA. Besides them Chief Engineer RDA Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Director Engineering RDA Asghar Hussain Warraich, Project Manager Nespak Danish Raza and other relevant officers and contractors of the Metro Bus stations attended the meeting.
Erection of steel structures, installation of escalators, elevators, glass, platform screen doors, aluminum panel work and installation of electricity generators were discussed threadbare.
RDA DG Captain (r) Zahid Saeed reiterated the importance of speedy work and directed the contractors to work day and night.
The commissioner said it is our collective responsibility to complete the work as early as possible and urged the contractors to do sincere efforts to finish the work at the earliest.
Former MNA Hanif Abbasi urged the contractors to put-in extra labour for execution of ongoing work on fast track basis. The contractors assured that they will complete the ongoing works as soon as possible.
