Badin, which was a beautiful town once, has become a city of dirt and filth. It is littered with trash and rubbish. Heaps of garbage can be seen in the city. Drains remain choked for most of the time and pools of dirty water on roads and streets are making the lives of the people difficult. They have to wade through the dirty water to reach their destinations – office, markets, etc. The situation is particularly bad for those going to worship places.
The funds that are allocated to the municipal committee for development and expansion of civic amenities are not being properly utilised. The municipality has completely failed to do its job. It is accused of discriminating against the poor and favouring a select few. The provincial authorities are requested to look into the matter and order a cleanliness drive in the district. In addition to this, funds should also be allocated to construct paved drains and to get them cleaned up.
