PESHAWAR: The formal approval of merger of boys and girls sections of Peshawar Public School was given by the Board of Governors on Monday. KP Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan presided over the meeting.
Secretary Education Dr Shehzad Bangash, Special Secretary Education Qaiser Alam, acting principal of the school, members of the board, and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
There would be one principal of the school while one headmaster for boys section and headmistress for girls section. The headmaster and headmistress would assist the principal in running the affairs of the school.
The board meeting also approved the appointment of new principal for the school.The meeting also recommended Rs100 million grant for the school. The meeting also discussed budget 2015-16 and 2016-17, the use of discretionary powers by principal in illegal appointments, and certain decisions were taken in this regard.
For correcting the affairs of the school, the meeting established a committee under the chairmanship of Secretary Education for reviewing the rules and regulation. Similarly the meeting also established HR Committee under the chairmanship of principal for other affairs of the school. The representatives of Education, Finance and Establishment would be included in these committees.
