Arfa Karim Randhawa Science Block inaugurated
Rawalpindi :The inauguration ceremony of Arfa Karim Randhawa Science Block was held here on Monday at Government Viqar-Un-Nisa Postgraduate College for Women Rawalpindi.
The Science Block is named after Arfa Karim Randhawa (Late) as a tribute to her huge contribution in the field of Information Technology at a very young age. She was a Pakistani student and computer prodigy, who in 2004 at the age of nine, became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional. She kept the title until 2008.
The chief guest for the ceremony was Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Chairman Sports Board Punjab and Metro Project Rawalpindi. Along with him Director Colleges Malik Muhammad Asgahr, MPA Tehseen Fawad and Sher Ahmed Satti, Deputy Director, Colleges, also graced the occasion.
Hanif Abbasi shared his feelings about the occasion and highlighted the importance of bringing improvement in the educational institutes. He announced the placement of AstroTurf in the hockey ground of college. He vowed for the betterment of the college and announced the grant of 63 Lac for the college. He urged the need of being focused and dedicated. He also paid tribute to Lt. Arsalan Satti Shaheed.
Principal Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti also expressed her views and gratitude on the occasion. She paid tribute to the efforts of Hanif Abbasi for all the development of projects he has been doing for the college in particular and Rawalpindi in general. She stressed the need to be dedicated and truthful to the cause and be optimistic in life.
